I know that a bunch of the Cons' usual proponents saw Tory's stance on the issue as objectionable. In fact, I remember reading phrases like "deal-breaker" and "That's it, I'm voting Green!" in other threads on the topic. I'd expect a lot of people are thinking over their choices again now that Tory has pointed the gun away from his foot (metaphorically speaking).
