The Canadian news media are indeed unique in the Western World... in their descriptions of the war in Afghanistan. Apparently we have the Taliban in a trap, on the run, on the defensive, etc. all very heroic and remarkable, though no other country - even the US - is reporting events in Afghanistan that way.

CBC today had the Afghanistan-related headline: Mission Accomplished, which brings to mind a less savoury precedent, if I'm not mistaken...
