It is warm and humid. Up north, we're hot as hell and dry. It reminded me of Hawaii.
So of course the first thing done is walking down to Hollywood Blvd, which is two (generous) blocks from the hotel, but very easy to find. Saw Mann's Chinese Theatre and the Walk of Fame. Incidentally, I was walking on the Walk before I realized it was the Walk. *lol*
Got a good deal on a limo tour of movie star homes, Hollywood Sign, Sunset Strip, Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive. Before leaving, ate at Shelly's Cafe, which I guess was in the movie Million Dollar Baby. I saw it once, but don't remember much of it.
So anyways, there's a couple from England, a couple from Denmark and a couple from Chicago in the whole tour. We got to see the famous sign, of course.
We saw the homes (or past homes) of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Bob Barker, Lucille Ball, Keanu Reeves, Leonardo DiCaprio...there were tons more, but I have trouble remembering them all. Some were hard to see because of fences and trees and gates and tarps, but some we drove right up to. Oh, Dr. Phil, Madonna before she moved to England, Halle Berry.
We also got to see Geisha House and Mood, two of the clubs in Knocked Up, the hotel and fire escape used in Pretty Woman and the church where the inside was used for Sister Act.
So today was very touristy. =) But that's what the big cities are for, eh?
