HEY WHAT.

"Enzan! Eeeeeenzaaaaaaaaaan~!" Sarah comes running up behind him, both hands carrying her bags. "Merry Christmas!"

How did she carry that much stuff and not fall over?

"Hi," he said calmly, waving slightly with his free hand. His own bag (a backpack!) was significantly smaller. "Merry Christmas."

How do you think women do all of that shopping in the mall? It's a female talent!

She grins and sets down her bags once she's close, bending over to rummage through it. "I've got something for you...ha ha!" And out comes a big tin of baked sweets along with a wrapped package. "You might wanna open the wrapped one later."

"Later," he repeated, giving it a slightly horrified look. That could mean anything.

But he'll pull out his box, a very pretty one that's simply marked coal, to hand to her. "This is yours."

"It's safe, I promise!" Which is true, relatively, for the one wielding a concealable spring-loaded knife thrower.

"...this is for that hamster thing, isn't it." But she still takes it and rattles it a bit.

"Don't do that!" He reached out and tried to stop her. "Just open it."

The box contains things that look suspiciously like coal! They are, in fact, dark chocolate.

She opens it!

"...I'm not sure if I should hit you or just laugh. This is genius!"

"Just admit my brilliance and we'll call it even," he grinned.

"Didn't I just do that?" She smiles and hugs him quickly. "Thank you!"

"Keep admitting - " The hug produced an unmanly squeak. Argh, voice cracking. "You're welcome."

"I'll even let you steal the idea," he teased. "Coal should be spread around for the holidays."
