With Christmas coming closer and closer each day, Sarah had become less and less pleased with the lack of decorations in the apartment. Finally, this last weekend she'd gone back to her parents' house to filch the decorations they weren't using to spruce up her place. A few strings of lights along the windows, a shelf acting in a mantle's stead complete with garland and stockings, and her own little personal tree with bitty ornaments and a small string of lights. It wasn't much, but it certainly pleased the teen, and with the pile of presents for her friends slowly growing next to the tree's table she felt far more accomplished this season than she had before.

Again toting around the portable heater and a thick blanket to help fend off the cold, Sarah is now puttering around in the kitchen making Christmas cookies. Sure, she should probably be working on dinner instead, but cookies taste much better.
