Sarah wasn't kidding when she said it was cold out--there's frost all over the windows and the wind outside isn't helping matters. Fortunately, the apartment building DOES in fact have insulation and heating...but that doesn't make it too much better inside ( Read more... )

Oh god it is so cold outside. There is frantic knocking that stops abruptly, presumably because Terra is afraid her hand will freeze off if it's outside of her hoodie for too long. (And unfortunately all she has for warmth is a blue hoodie; there was never any real need for a winter coat in Jump.) Yes, she's inside the building, but she's still pretty damn cold.

((argh my computer is ded so it may take a little longer than usual while I get accustomed to MacBooks))

At the knock Sarah perks up, sliding the laptop off to the side and hobbling her way over to the door. After an awkward moment of blankets nearly falling off her shoulders, the door is opened. "You...look a bit chilly there, Terra. Wanna borrow a coat? Or three?"

"If I could just get some blankets, that'd be great." She may be shivering a little. At least she isn't wearing shorts. She has some cold-weather smarts. "And a portable sun. Do you have any of those around?"

"No, fresh out! But you can take these blankets and my spot on the couch next to the mini-heater!" She unwraps the blankets from herself (causing Tsuri on her shoulder to squawk at the temperature change) and guestures to the couch. "I'll check on your cocoa while you get all situated."

"You are the best friend ever." She takes the blankets with a smile and gets as close as she can to them before she goes to wrap herself up. Before she heads to the couch, she gives a quick "hey, Tsuri".

Tsuri chirps as the transfer goes on, switching her perch over to Terra's shoulders if she isn't shooed off. Hey, it's warm in the bigfuzzy!

"I do try!" Sarah laughs and goes off into the kitchen, putzing around a bit in there before coming out with two big, steaming mugs of delicious chocolate goodness.

Psh, like Terra's gonna shoo away something as cute as Tsuri. And it is warm in the bigfuzzy!

When Sarah comes back, Terra's all snuggled up in blankets and already starting to warm up. She definitely approves of these things. "You succeed!" She works one hand out to take a mug, but isn't quite cold enough to risk burning her tongue just yet. "So is it always like this around here?"

:D Tsuri will just be burrowing right behind Terra's neck then~ Mmmmmwarmfuzzygood ♥

Sarah holds her own mug tightly and sits down next to Terra, trying to not fidget from the cold. "Well, today's colder than it has been lately, but if I remember correctly there's at least a little bit of snow around December and January in this area. I only started living here this summer, so I'm not entirely sure."

Terra's sure that Tsuri looks really cute. It's a good guess considering she's not part owl. Terra, not Tsuri. Tsuri might be part owl. You never know with those promiscuous dragon types.

"There must be some damn fine perks to keep you living here in weather like this." She just shakes her head. "I personally think you're nuts. I've never seen snow in Jump City and I don't really want to." That cocoa's gonna sit for a little longer, but not too long.

They are rather friendly! :0 And there's always a half-dragon running around in one universe or another~...but sadly, unless it was a Pernese owl, Tsuri-DNA is a triple Helix and thus not compatable with Earth-types.

"Well, I am able to see certain people a lot more often living here! And I lived in Colorado for the majority of the childhood that I remember, so moving back to California was a let down for the winter. I LOVED the snow...just not so much the cold that came with it." She giggles a bit and takes a iiiiiitty bitty sip. "And since I've been pampered with warm weather for about six years now, I lost my weather-skin or whatever."

A triple helix? Why, that's three times more than a normal helix! That's incredibly impressive DNA in such a small package. She should be proud.

"Yeah, I think that's the deal with me, too. Not six years, but it's been a while. If you invited me over to this place like five years ago, I probably would've been fine." Okay, now it's time to cut into that cocoa. Terra goes to take a sip... and hisses. But she still swallows it and oh man that is some good warmth. "Forgot that cocoa comes hot now."

She is!...or would be, if she even knew what a helix was. She'd probably wonder if one could eat it, silly little thing.

"Heh, I was gonna say with all your travelling it'd be surprising if you hadn't ever gone to a cold place!" Sarah grins. "Yeah, you might wanna watch that~ Oh, and what kind of cookies you want? I've got enough ingredients to make just about anything."

Helices can taste good if baked into a pie. A pie of genes. Deliciousribonucleic acid.

"I've been in every state and some parts of Canada, so yeah, I'd be surprised too! Man... now I'm all nostalgic. Thanks a lot, Sarah," she says, faking offense. "And I've got enough of a stomach to eat just about anything! Go nuts."

mmmmm acid :9

She giggles and takes another sip, wincing a bit. "Whoops? I should dump some snow or something on you now, to make up for it~"

"Soy sauce and liver it is!" Or maybe fudge and peanut butter...ooh, and she could toss in some MnMs!

"Oh, no, no way, don't do that. That's not the nostalgia I was talking about. I was more thinking of, y'know... gathering around the fire in motels and stuff." She sighs happily and takes a smaller sip this time.

"Ooh, that sounds delicious." It may not come across as such, but she's being entirely serious.

"Oh! I see. That sounds far preferable to the alternative." She smiles and takes another sip. ...lskajfdlksajf she's getting too cold damnit. "You know, I think I'm gonna take me up on that coat offer before I start cooking. Eesh."

Sadly, this possibility doesn't cross Sarah's mind! Hopefully Terra won't be too dissapointed in the lack of culinary expirimentation...
