Two Questions
I was browsing Wikipedia and on the page for
Lucius Malfoy, it says "Lucius Malfoy, the son of a prominent wizard named Abraxas Malfoy (who died years later of dragon pox) ...". Has this been mentioned in canon or by JK Rowling? It's new to me and I was wondering how much truth is in it.
How (and why) exactly did Snape get the job as Potions Master? Was the job offered by Dumbledore? Did he apply on his own? Was the job taken to help Voldemort? I know that it has been stated in the books that Voldemort is pleased with Snape having (though I should past tense here) the post for spying but was that the reason for taking the job to begin with? Or just some nifty bonus on his part? I think I remember reading something related as to why he took the job in the books but I can't be certain.
