Some inspiration
This community's been terribly dead of late. If we're aiming for a wig abuse revival, how about a cannon fic revival too! I'm sure I could find a willing lieutenant or two around here...
Anyway. A couple weeks ago commodorified and q_skud_ and prairiedaun and lasergirl69 and I all went to Kingston, ON. One of the things we did was tour Fort Henry and watch them fire the cannon.
It's not quite the same as a ship, I know, but they are firing at an imaginary ship, and at least in Hornblower, the navy boys do find themselves on land rather a lot...
