Half because the mist has awaken any feral instincts, half because he is just plain annoyed at everything. Ever.

This goes on with several minutes until balls of flame erupt from the spider and Itachi instantly dodges with the only damage that it singes his robe followed up with the blade committing a sharp arc in the air -- only to reach the defenses of the spider’s leg.
The spider performs a counterattack in rage and strikes out a limb to dig deeply into the flesh of Itachi’s arm, and Itachi avoids the impact enough success to only get his shoulder briefly wounded with blood running down the torn material in thick rivets.
