french club
Heh, I started going to a meetup.com based French-language club that meets once or twice a month in a café not too far from where I live. Today was the second time I've been to this particular group.
However, soon after I got there, I started talking to a woman who came even though she doesn't really speak French, she just admires it.. I ended up talking to her for 2 hours or so, until the café closed.
Nice person, but I feel somewhat...cheated, heh. The organizer came over and lectured her a bit about how she won't learn anything by speaking English...
Anyways, those groups attract an interesting and weird assortment of people, with varying levels of fluency. I like going just to get the chance to meet different weirdos than the usual circles I travel in (college employees, lesbians, klezmer fans..)
