Phewf, what a rainy day! OK, I know that's kind of redundant to say, since most of you know that I live in Vancouver... But still, today felt a bit crazier than usual.
Heh, one thing that makes me laugh and grumpy at the same time is my bus ride to work after school, the #49. It goes through Vancouver South with its megahomes and streets lined with parked luxury cars. I'm always shocked by the number of teenagers you see driving luxury cars in Vancouver South. BMWs, "luxury" SUVs, and so on. It seems to me that you never really saw that as much back in Ottawa, but maybe it was happening in Barrhaven or Kanata (suburbs) and I just never saw it. I know on some level that it's unfair of me to see an old bald guy in a business suit driving a luxury car and say nothing, but when I see an 18-year-old driving one, to get a little mad.. It's not like the old guy necessarily earned it. But still...
Another thing I thought up this morning is that I should somehow compile some stuff I have written over the past 2 years since moving to Vancouver and make a little "zine" out of it. Once upon a time, I spent 3 months in Belgium and made a sort of photocopied mini-book of extracts from e-mails and livejournal posts. It actually made for a pretty seamless and decent read. Although I don't pay much attention to the zine world anymore, it's a format that kind of makes sense if you just want to compile something and give it to 30 of your friends. This'll be something to work on or think about during my 2-3 weeks off in December...
