With my first year of university drawing to a close, I'm somewhat saddened to admit that I have a much lessened respect for the intelligence of students.
I worked with the public for the last 5 or so years before this, so it's not like I haven't been exposed to a wide range of people. I've also never liked the way some people, for example my twin brother, have an elitist view of the world and say that the majority of people "shouldn't be in university".
Still... it kind of appalls me how a lot of people out there just don't care to look a little deeper, don't try to think sharply or challenge themselves, don't have a critical view of the world, etc.
Then again, I don't like the students who take themselves extremely seriously, who are rigorous and intelligent, yes, but have a sort of vanity and narrow way of seeing things. I wouldn't want to be like them either.
Oh well, it's probably just the day-after-birthday, rainy-day hangover talking ;O
