I guess this is a pretty disappointing thought of the day, but I found out that two words I never really liked are actually "wrong".
Cater-corner eventually became kitty-corner or catty-corner when the original meaning of cater ("four") had become obsolete.
Hangnail evolved when people stopped liking/understanding the sound of the original "agnail."
I never trusted either of them. (And it's well known that I prefer things that start with "Kate.." and "Agn'..")
Plus: My first clumsy Spanish wikipedia article! To go with my first clumsy French wikipedia article of a few weeks ago..
