Even with you being IRL friends with them, that still leaves me. Who...does not know any of you fuckers in real life and lives clear across the country. I mean maybe it's my sweet and nonabrasive personality but I still have never seen any mod act "intimidating" and why are you letting yourself be intimidated by words on a screen anyway?
I'm trying to think of an instance where an RP!S about Wake showed up that couldn't have been chucked onto the HMD. Can't really think of a one.
Plus the track record sort of speaks for itself in terms of issues addressed and solved. Teal was told she was mean and intimidating and tried to make herself more friendly and open, but she's not going to get thanked. Probably Alba and Jolta and Kas won't after orchestrating the redux event after people were saying that they wanted more events and to kick it up a notch.
I don't know. I'm not trying to say people are ungrateful, I just think the mods get very little credit for what they actually fix and a whole lot of shit for stuff that's mostly out of their hands or was never actually addressed.
Or you know. That could be the symptom of every mod everywhere. I would not know.
Yeah, I don't get it, either. I think it's an overall vibe that most players get when they join a game, and are just intimidated by the modbase by default. I'm not sure why. I guess it's just the whole... "Oh god I don't want to piss off the people who run the game" kind of thing. So maybe it is just a mod-symptom.
You can't think of one because there really hasn't been an instance where the stuff on RP!S couldn't have been brought to the HMD. I mean, that's what the HMD is for--to bring up those concerns in a more mature, more effective manner. I don't get what it is about RP!S that people feel the need to voice their concerns to the general public, rather than just going to the HMD.
Got to love it when people bring up a problem, yet they can offer no solution. It's really ace.
I think RP!S is more of an emotional gut-reaction sort of thing, where people immediately want to express their frustration in a way that gets either attention or results.
But if it's venting frustration, talk to a friend. Write in a journal, go outside for a while. So many other things to do to get rid of bad feelings than bringing down the whole comm with you.
I'm under the firm belief that venting to someone is healthy, and I wouldn't consider it gossip. Sometimes it helps to get your concerns out, and it helps even more to have someone listen to them.
What doesn't help is shouting it out to the world by dragging out your dirty laundry for the public eye. That's what irritates me about places like RP!S, and why I refrain from posting those kinds of Secrets/make those sort of anon comments.
