Hail to the Chief
Hi everybody. It has been a couple of weeks without any word from me, but now I'm back with a vengeance. Here's a brief recap:
-Finally got my voice back. That week was kind of nuts. Monday and Tuesday I had auditions for Closer. Wednesday was the Symposium that I sort of presented during (what without a voice and all), then I got $25 for an article I wasn't even that happy with from the paper. Thursday, my voice was slowly coming back to me, but I couldn't sing that much, so I felt like a lump in Singers. Friday, I forced myself to sing during the concert, since I'd been working on that shit all semester, and though it hurt a little, I did just fine. Saturday I was in callbacks for most of the day, during which time I got more and more jazzed about doing a musical next year.
-The next week wasn't really as exciting. Mostly just did stuff I had to do, like clean and do laundry. Oh! Went on a date with Jayne on Monday, and that was really awesome, especially since we hadn't gotten to go on a real date in such a long time thanks to theatre. But the problem then became when you start your week out that good, you have nowhere to go but down.
-Friday, we celebrated a bunch of things. First was the last day of Core, so Aaron and I drank a six pack of Strongbow in 45 minutes at 9:30 in the morning. Then, after that had had a chance to wear off, we went to Stomp the Lawn, which turned out to be alright (bumper cars was bad ass, as was the homo-erotic robot wrestling thing). Then we went to Taco Mac for Josh's birthday, followed by circle of death back at the dorms. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of having consumed a vast amount of beer during the day and then following that up with sweet-tarts during circle of death, so I got real sick and decided to go sleep the rest of it off instead of going to the frat party that night.
-One other thing to note about Friday night is, during drinking festivities, my wonderful little mentee, Barry, gave me a call and told me that I'd won the election for Vice President of OSA for next year, so that's pretty cool.
-Now, I am sitting here, avoiding doing anything exceptionally productive, aside from writing in here. I kind of want something to do, so there's a very real possibility that I'll attempt to move my XBox 360 in here and hook the internet up to it. Finals start soon, but I'm not overly concerned with any of it, aside from having 2 papers due on Monday. I'll seriously try to update you guys (who probably already know everything that goes on in my life) as this shit goes by. Also, I'm really wanting to take more pictures, but everything goes by and I never think to take pictures, so just like smack me and tell me to get my damn camera out if you see me.
