It's been an easy week. I've been resting in preparation for the next three weeks in which I will be participating in a archaeological field project. It's in Gaston County near the small town of Hardin at the La Far site (a place I've never heard of). I'm excited, glad I'll be learning what life in the field is like, though I probably won't pursue a career related to archaeology in any way. I'm excited I'll be working outside in the dirt among overgrown vegetation and bugs. It'll be just like last summer....but without any pay. I'm just worried about the driving I'll have to do. My internship is in Gaston County, and I work in Huntersville. I live right in the middle. Internship in the morning, work in the evening. Every day. That'll total between 1.5 and 2 hours of driving each day. With rising gas prices, my life is going to suck. It's my choice though, right? I guess.
Radar pup was spayed last night, and i picked her up this afternoon.
I'm reading this flaky novel, you know, because I'm sick of reading ethnographies for school that are filled with detailed facts and which take forever to read. It's called The Dive from Clausen's Pier, and it's driving me crazy. I"m about 3/4 of the way through, and I have a feeling it mgith start to get better in a few chapters. I'm tempted to just skip the next few chapters, but would feel guilty for cheating my way through. I hate the feeling of not wanting to finish a book.
