So its has been foreverrrrr since I posted on this thing. Much has happened.
Law school semester II is both harder and easier than LSS I. I have a whole other class, which is not that much added work, but takes a lot of time away from me doing other work. I get to school around 8:30 ish each day and I get home at like 4 and then check email and eat dinner and then look at the clock and its like WTF how is it 7:30?! Where did my day go. So basically the moral of the story is that I am much more efficient in doing work this semester but I have less time to do more work.
Also, people here are pretty bitchy. I mean, it kind of feels like I am back in middle/high school. Of course, what did I expect going to school in MALIBU. Shallow, immature, annoying people is what I should have expected. Its been quite some time since I've had a mean girl actively trying to turn people against me. But I ignore her and it, and try to think, if people are listening to her and not making their own judgments, I probably don't want to be friends with them anyway. I keep this wonderful inspiration from good old George Washington himself in my head:
"Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation. It is better be alone than in bad company."
I am thinking about transferring at the end of this year. I'd love to transfer to Berkely or even UCLA but all of that will depend on my grades this semester, because they won't look at your app until they get your spring grades. So we'll see. I didn't realize how much of a shocker Pepperdine would be after going to Oxy. Its like going from LIBERAL LAND WITH LOTS OF OPEN MINDS to CLOSED OFF CONSERVATIVE KINGDOM. Bottom line: people are not progressive enough for my tastes.
I am once again blonde, for anyone who is interested to know. Man, people sure treat your differently when you are blonde.
Things are about to get insane with finals and all. But then it will be summer and I will be working part time at Public Counsel (a public interest pro bono legal organization) in their homelessness prevention project and then researching part time with a Professor on First Amendment Free Speech Issues (!!!). And this researching position pays $12 an hour (!!!!) which is $12 more an hour than I was expecting to make this summer. Basically I would research Con-law for free, so getting paid to do it is like super-exciting.
So things are good. and bad. and exciting. and stressful. but bottom line: I AM ALMOST DONE WITH MY FIRST YEAR OF LAW SCHOOL OMG.
where did time go?
