I've been scouring the intert00bz for the lampreys of the elite media trying to exploit this little incidence, and to no avail. I guess they're heeding their Lord & Master's orders to leave the candidates' kids alone. So far that's been the most honorable moment of his

I seriously doubt there will be another Roe v Wade because McCain is on the fence with Abortion. He's painting himself as a lifer to win the Evangelical votes he needs, but deep down inside he's Republican in name only. He is more about freedom than he is about controlling anybody's reproductive rights. It's just not him. It's never been his issue (just like it was never one of Reagan's issues). And he's #1: not her.
She used to be a Catholic, but her parents went a little nuts after they moved to Alaska and went non-denominational for some reason, so the whole family converted.
I'm on the fence myself with abortion. It's the 14 years of Catholic education. :P I believe in a woman's right to a speedy routine contraceptive procedure after rape, incest, etc.. ORRRR when the woman's life is in danger. But if by the middle of the second trimester you decide you don't want to be pregnant anymore it's too late: that kid is alive so accept the responsibility. Prior to that, while I myself would never opt for an abortion, I can see it as an infringement on rights, since the embryo is still mostly stem cells (I don't believe life begins immediately at conception, but rather at the stage when the fetus can live outside the womb: so roughly at around 3-4 months). As the significant other of someone who was born with a serious and potentially life-threatening congenital condition, I would NEVER support terminating the life of a child with special needs: physical or mental. Pregnancy as an inconvenience is like something that comes out of the mouth of some latte liberal on an acid trip! Please, there are so many potentially good parents out there looking to adopt!
I don't like Fundies at all either. But I like socialists even less. As for the debt issue: I have to do research on that. I was under the impression that she was the mastermind behind balancing the state's budget after she was made governor. She's best known for being anti-corruption and doing what's correct in spite of herself and her party. The exact opposite is true of Obama AND Bush.
Besides: nobody's perfect!
