Deathly Hallows, Art, and MORE...

Woohoo! Seems liek forever since I last posted! Randomly! Especially with art!

My muse seems to have taken a holiday sabbatical. But no worries... he's back.

OK, yeah, DE! WOW!!! The END! I'm in utter shock that it's actually all over: this merits some squishy speech!stuff. It has taken 17 years to complete. The only other masterpiece in modern history of which I could think that has had so much time and loyal following as Rowling's literary magnum opii of could only be Gaudi's Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. And they're STILL not done with that one, about 150 years later!

I'm glad I waited till today to post my thoughts, now that Rowling has taken the verbal laxative regarding the life, love, and death of my beloved ink and paper ("anti"?)hero.

Lily and Severus share some pretty freaky parallels in their relationship with that of yours truly and the Alien Life Form. Joanne herself today confirmed that had Lily the balls/initiative/determination to deter him from the Dark Arts Severus not had his little mental masturbation with the Dark Arts, Lily would have most definitely fallen for his soul (and what a pure soul it is) and brain. But they were just kids. In the end, she settled for the asshole who would piss off Severus the most. A childish game! 20 years down the line, assuming she would have lived, of course, she would have been bored out of her mind with James "the Jock" Potter! Whereas with Severus, she would have had someone up to par with her intellectual and conversational capacity. Not that James was an idiot (because turning into a Red Deer merits degrees of intelligence), but would he have kept her as emotionally and intellectually stimulated as Severus would have? No!

In the case of me and Mr. War, the Dark Arts are equivalent to recreational drug use. I have known this about him for many years before I decided to fully commit. It has been a tough road these last eight months, but the adventure has been worth the while! I, possessing all the virtues and feminine guiles of such venerated Amazons before me as St. Clothilde of Reims and St. Monica of Hippo have turned this sickly prodigy away from all harmful substances with the exception of alcohol and cannabis (and even then he has cut down ten-fold, and his goal is to quit entirely by the time he graduates law school). Ladies, NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE AWESOME POWER OF THE VAGINA (and the supreme being that conceived it)! basically, I told him that if he so much as thinks about consuming anything stronger than cannabis, I will leave him. And with regards to the latter, he has to provide me with reason to trust him. And he agreed! Like Severus Snape, Alfred Guerra is a man of little physical perfection and massive intellectual brilliance -- and that is enough to blow away any Adonis. However, his disease has darkened his childhood in a way so unjust that it no human being deserves. Regardless of whatever future our relationship holds, I know deep in my heart that while I cannot save his life, I have ultimately saved his soul. Now imagine if Lily Evans had done the same!

While we're on the issue of Souls, I also don't think that Severus has ever killed (or raped) anybody. This is proven when he expresses his concern to Dumbledore about his own soul. Remember, Voldemort always sends out his goons to do his dirty work... not his chief advisors (except for Bellatrix, but that's because she likes killing people).

Overall, while HBP still holds the title of being my favourite book, DE comes in at second. This is due to the fact that HELLOOOOO... a whole chapter dedicated to Severus' youth!!! That, and the fact that I have succumbed to the occupational hazard of programming (becoming farsighted), is why it took me so long to finish. I'm addicted to "The Prince's Tale"!
I seriously have to draw more of that chapter!!!

Anyhow... I originally drew this to illustrate what my boss (bless him) calls a "hubba-hubba experience". Meaning when a man is at a loss for words/has a heart attack at the sight of a "babe". I can't decide whether it's the first time Severus' eyes caught a glimpse of Lily, or if he's at King's Cross trying to catch her attention. Whatever he's dragging is either a wagon or his luggage. But there he is with Eileen, so you decide!
