::nods:: I'm actually writing a fic that deals with that--Larsa himself takes over the Ninth "for six months", just as Vayne took over the Senate, ostensibly for Basch to find his feet...and eventually jsut says, fuck it, and appoints whoever was next in line for the job, citing that he'd rather have Gabranth be Mr. Personalest of Bodyguards.

Yeah, it isn't as if there's any lack of open positions for Basch to get moved into, but Personalest Bodyguard Numero Uno ♥ sounds pretty optimal. I'm also writing something that heads in that direction, although the move is precipitated by (my favorite!) assassination attempts. XD;

That was part of my new effort to comment on these FFXII things to show I am enjoying them, but the truth is, I really don't have anything to say. XD;

Like in this case, all I was really thinking was:
1) Larse BEHIND A DESK WITH HIS HANDS FOLDED IN FRONT OF HIM MAKING OFFERS.
2) Balthier! Being witty! ♥
3) Of course Fran is the one who gets to decide.

Dude. All that Larsa is missing in this is some cat-type creature to have sitting in his lap that he can stroke in a dramatic fashion as he speaks.

And politics are bad for Balthier's complexion, I think.

Plus he sits in a murky room with his chair turned away from you, and the chair has a really high back, so all you ever see of him is the cat-thing's tail and that white-gloved stroking hand.

At first I was sure Balthier and Fran would say no, but now I think they'd say yes, go soup up the Strahl at Draklor, and then bail after the first assignment haha SAYONARA SUCKAHHHS.
