Ok...so I've tried both Norton and Avast (separately of course) and Spybot (which finds lots of tracking cookies but nothing else), but it seems something is causing my computer to freeze up periodically for several seconds before working again. It's starting to get annoying, and sadly I don't know enough to know what else might be causing it other than some kind of virus or spyware. It's not my internet connection (though the freeze-up does sometimes cause the broadband to disconnect for a moment before reconnecting again), it's the whole computer. Automatic update is set to automatically download and install new updates, so I shouldn't be missing any critical windows updates. I'm currently running Windows XP Professional using a satellite connection (that's all that's available out here other than dial-up). I can provide additional specs or answer any questions as needed if anyone has any ideas of what it might be. Otherwise, it might be time to reformat. Fortunately, I should have everything I need on CD, on my external hard drive, or available for re-download online, it's just a pain.
In other news though, I'm also pissed about
this. They need to be locked in a car in 90 degree weather with the windows rolled up.
At least I will end on a good note, however. I thought
this was really neat, and that dog got a trip to Mexico for its trouble. :)
