I've been feeling a bit under the weather today, I just hope I am not coming up with anything! (and if I do, let it be over by the time I fly to Mexico, ktxbi)
Still, we managed to hit the town to buy a few things we needed, like Jeroen's jiu-jitsu outfit, a new set of -very cheap- Zeeman jeans for wearing at the animal shelter LOL, ink cartridges for the printer, and while shopping for that we came across Guitar Hero 5, we didn't even know it was out there LOL, so we snatched a copy of course. ;)
We've playing for a while and so far we're happy with it, only the Wii made an update that sort of screwed up the layout, Jeroen says he'll look into that later.
While Jeroen played with the new toy, I went to work on the new jeans, as I had to make some adjustments because the pants were too long, as usual. Sucks to be short, dammit. I am not too dexterious with the needle and thread, but I managed to shorten them all right, and since I will only wear them at the animal shelter, I am not too worried if the end result isn't all that great ;)
Speaking of the shelter, on friday I offered to help feed the animals but the lady who had trained me in the beginning wasn't too sure so instead she fed one enclosure and told me I could start cleaning that one right away. Not ten minutes later, the manager comes and asks me why the other animals haven't eaten, so I explained what happened. She said I could stop what I was doing and that she'd talk to the other lady about it, and I could start feeding right away. Eeeek! So I went and gave a cat a pill and rubbed her open wound with some ointment, and fed the other cats. The lady returned not long after and she was very helpful, so I guess in the future it will really be okay for me to help with more than just cleaning.
In the course of the day I also helped her hold some kitties that needed extra attention (cleaning abscesses, worm treatments, flea treatments...) so it was an interesting day full of additional activities that I hadn't encountered before. I did get my fingers sliced open by a panicky kitten, so now I know to leave him in peace next time ;) He was new so he was probably scared about everything, I hope in a few days he'll feel less uneasy. (Don't think he'll stay for long, they go to guest families most of the time, to be socialized.)
So yeah. :)
Tomorrow we'll have some friends over, who were interested in learning Go, so this means I'll be cleaning up the place early in the morning ;) They will stay for dinner too, so it will be gezellig. Maybe we can also play with our new game and try out the "party mode"!
