1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?

Drove my own car

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Not all of them, but some. S'worse than none I guess! :)

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Yes, a friend of Jeroen's became a daddy this year.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Not directly, but we did go to the funeral of my mother in law's brother. I think I only met him once so I can't say we were close.

5. What countries did you visit?

Mexico

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?

I'll say exactly what I said last year: I'd like to have more inner peace and less stress. I'd like to stop caring too much about things that are beyond my control and not let them affect me.

7. What dates from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

May, as I got my driver's license that month.
October, which was the month my parents came to Holland

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Lots of things, can't pinpoint one! Jeroen and I both got our drivers license, we got a car, a clothes dryer, we managed to bring my parents to this side of the ocean...

9. What was your biggest failure?

Not managing to really lose some weight, I totally pigged in starting July I believe...
Also, still stressing over work, I should not let it affect me.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

S'not really an illness but I did have to go to the hospital to have my wisdom teeth removed by a surgeon. One of them was too close to a nerve in my face and the normal dentist didn't want to mess with it.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

The car, and the dryer! :)

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

Last year I said my brother's, and this year I say it again. He's been through some tough shit is still holding on and fighting for what's rightfully his. Way to go!
Also, my Mom, who has changed her mentality a lot and is now a much happier person. I am very very glad for her.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

I've had things with people at work that made me very down and I really found it hard some days to just get up in the mornings and having to go there, you know? But I move on.

14. Where did most of your money go?

The car was the biggest expense we had this year, then came the plane tickets, and then the dryer. I also spent some of my money in other thingies like DVDs, clothes, but mostly groceries hehe.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Getting my driver's license, and my parent's trip to Holland.

16. What song will always remind you of 2006?

"No worries" by that yummy black dude whose name I Can't recall, go figure. (and I am not even sure that's the title of the song) Anyway, everytime we were in the car they would play that song, so it sort of became the Car Song.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

a) happier or sadder?
Happier

b) thinner or fatter?
I gained muscle mass alright, however I think I also regained some fat in my thighs and waist, so I gotta work on that.

Going to concerts, I really enjoyed the piano concert we went to the other day.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

As usual, sleeping in the couch. It's so irresistible ;D

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

We will go to Jeroen's parents and meet his family there. We will go take a walk in the meadows, and once we're all cold to the bone, we will go back home and warm up with chocolate milk and glue wine. Then we will have dinner "gourmet" style, Jeroen and I will bring the salad.

My parents to come to Holland, and my license. ;D SOmething else I wanted and managed to pull of this year for the first time was putting up a Christmas tree.

Well, I've been meaning to renew my wardrobe, move on from the jeans on to something more stylish, but I've really procrastinated on that.

29. What was your favorite film of this year?

Perhaps "Over the Hegde"

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I turned 28. My parents were here with me for a change and that was awesome. I invited Jeroen's family over, we had drinks and snacks at home, and went out for dinner at the spanish restaurant Ramblas. We had a delicious meal, and a great time.
A few weeks after that I also got together with our friends to celebrate. Lots of people came, we also had drinks and snacks and lots of fun. :)

31.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

If all of my brother's issues with a certain pendejo cabron had been sorted out. It's still all in process but damn, things are going slow.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?

Same as always: Jeans, shirts, sweatshirts and a sweater to cover myself up while in the office. Oh, I did get new boots though. ;) I thought I'd dress more stylish now we got a car and I don't need to cycle around in high heels and a skirt, but so far that hasn't happened. ;P

After pondering for a while, I cannot come up with anything nice and breathtaking, so I'll just go for: people are asses on the road and I should watch out not to become one too ;)

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

"Baby you can drive my car..." :D
