Today I came by bus to work because I was carrying some cake, breads and stroopwafels for my colleagues, as my birthday is tomorrow. People here have the tradition of bringing cake into the office to celebrate and stuff.
So the cake was VERY yummy, and I got nice gifts from my colleagues: A nice card, two cinema passes, box of Belgian sea-shell chocolates, two beautiful wine glasses and a bottle of white wine to go along with it. I shall enjoy them in the weekend! (not tonight as we got fitness, and I am quite sure I will fall off the loopband if I go there drunk ;P )
My plans for tomorrow are doing absolutely nothing whatsoever birthday-wise. That will be my birthday gift from me to me. *nods* For the past two months or so we have had things to do on the weekend: visitors, birthdays, trips, etc. So I decided that on the weekend of my birthday I don't want to do anything. I don't want to clean the appartment because I am expecting people, I don't want to dress up, I just wanna take it easy and be lazy.
I will get together with Jeroen's family the weekend after, and with The Gang sometime after that. :)
As for this weekend, Jeroen and I want to go downtown, he will buy a copy of WoW for himself so that we can finally trade stuffies (as you can't do that with a guest account), and he will get something nice for me. Maybe some new shoes, or a puzzle.... we'll see! :) Maybe we can also have dinner outside, so that we don't have to cook.
Yesterday I had driving lessons. It went bad, in the sense that I did lots of good things, but I also messed up badly by almost running over someone TWICE.
The instructor said I shouldn't worry about the fact that I missed a 60km sign and was happily driving 80, but that I really should pay attention at my behaviour on the road. Twice I slowed down where I shouldn't, and cyclists took that as a sign of "sure, go on, I'll let you pass" and were startled when all of a sudden I accelerated again. I can't believe I did that twice! :( I was so upset I was very close to crying on the car, it shook my concentration and I started doing stupid things.
Still, the instructor thought that I drove "lekker" (nice?) and he told me to remind him that next lesson we will go into the highway for the first time. And of course, I will pretend to forget all about it and procrastinate as much as I can :P
*sigh*
I am very talented in some things, but driving is certainly not one of them, I tell ya!
