WELL FUCK.

I got my new pieces in the mail today...John Thompson's "Variations on Three Blind Mice" and Sergei Prokofiev's "Suggestion Diabolique". Excitementexcitementexcitement. I sightread through the "Variations" in a few minutes...it's cute. Twentieth century, fun. The Prokofiev, however, took me eight weeks of struggling through octave-and-a-half, 4-sharp chords before I got a headache and gave up. It's CRAZY AND IMPOSSIBLE AND RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRFUCK.

During my last lesson, Luz said, "Hey Ali, I know you won't have much time this year for practicing, so why don't you drop the Prokofiev and I'll give you a nice Mozart 'Variations on Twinkle Twinkle'." (Not that that would be easy, either. But it wouldn't be kicking my ass this much. At least Mozart has quite obvious themes.) Predictably, I dismissed her utterly. Because I'm stubborn and FUCKING STUPID.

Manohmanohman.
go listen to track 13. or what they have of it.

I hate failing.
