(no subject)
I've decided I'm going to give dating Shaun a try.
I just lectured a friend of mine for 10 minutes after she asked:
"how do you feel about dating a boy that you pretty certain it won't really go anywhere?"
I pretty much said "You'll never know until you try."
Because... you won't.
So, even if I think this might be doomed from the beginning.... maybe it's not.
And maybe I just need to give it a tiny little baby shot in the dark.
In other news.
The mellos are making hoodies with our nicknames...
I'm really excited because I'm going to be "Melanie I-have-a-crush-on-every-boy Hensley" and it makes me chuckle.
I heart teen girl squad.
I'm marching Southwind.
And I'm really excited about it.
I know they're not the best corp ever...
Everyone that has marched, is marching or will march LOVES Southwind.
The staff sounds wonderful, the people are wonderful...
I'm excited.
Every day during November- until December 1, I'm going to list things that I'm thankful for. (If not here, then xanga, or 43things.com)
It only helps you realize how lucky we are, you know?
Also.
I'm thinking about doing the Peace Corps after I graduate.
I really want to do something that makes a difference in the world, do something to help people- something completely selfless and for the betterment of someone else, rather than myself.
(Plus, they pay off your student loans....quite an incentive! haha)
And if not Peace Corps... there's an Ameri-Corps.
I think it's a wonderful idea and I really want to talk to Maria Witt, an SAI sister in Africa with Peace Corps....
