PCA and my rant.

Jan 12, 2012 11:45

The PCA aired last night, and SPN won two categories, including best network drama, except I hear that the boys weren't invited to the awards show, and they didn't even bother to announce it on the damned show that they won. I am really cranky. I have emailed PCA to express my frustration with this, and am asking that you do the same. It looks ( Read more... )

Nice icon!

I'm seething. Our boys could've been on instead of that stupid thing with Jimmy Fallon, or Demi Lovato's hideous caterwauling, or indeed most of it.

But they do now appear to own a pair of glass sculptures of ladyparts!

thank you! :D
me too - i still am. i've never been a fan of the PCAs and it's only due to the show that i even pay attention to them. this blows big time -- they have no clue whom they're dealing with here. HELL KNOWETH NO FURY LIKE A FANDOM SCORNED - esp when they start messing with the boys. reminds me of the fury experienced in 2007 when that stupid, fake marine took our boys for a ride thru humiliation.
the PCAs and CBS definitely have not heard the end of this. it's rather unfortunate that we're considered a crazy lot but then, people have no idea.

i'm thinking that the sculptures are the property of SPN mgt/producers?

Well, from my viewpoint, it was a shoddy production, and I can't say that I've ever liked awards shows at all. They rarely if ever nominate anything I'm interested in, and some of the shit that wins throws the entire genre into question Demi Lovato!.

That having been said, THEY DISSED SHOW! They deserve to have wrath rained down on them. CBS promoted their own trashy shows instead of bowing to the popular vote, and I am not going to let that go. I have no doubt that there will be more than us.

And our boys deserve it, since the CW doesn't actually do much to defend their honour.

And they still look like glass ladyparts to me, but I bet the boys will get to keep them.

IMNSHO, the PCAs has *always* been shoddy. i never liked the them (thought they were a joke) but when SPN had a stake in it, i could not ignore them then. but yeah, otherwise, that's probably one of the lamest awards shows (i don't watch any, really); the little i saw/heard of this year made me embarrassed that we're reduced to practically groveling them just to garner exposure for the show and boys that they so seriously deserve and shamefully lack. i've always scoffed at the PCAs simply because the awards *are* voted for by the common people (i have NOTHING in common with middle america, just based on what's popular on TV, know what i mean? DRECK ( ... )

No. I hadn't seen it, but I am not surprised. They are jerks, and I discard them. My strategy is to comment on whatever blogs I know about the CBS Choice Awards (because they certainly aren't accepting the choices the people have made.) and talking to any of the bloggers I know out there in pop culture land. I want to take this to as many message boards and forums as possible. I'm even using Facebook and Twitter. So not like me. So recruit people. Talk to the bloggers you know and if you have ANYONE onside who is involved in media, then get to it. I am looking at what it would cost to put an ad in Variety or one of those papers, with an eye to raising the money - auction maybe, that would say "Congratulations to the Supernatural Cast and Crew on their recent win in the Peoples' Choice Awards, even though it's possibly the best kept secret of the PCAs. Best Sci-fi AND Best Network Drama. We love you."

What do you think?

i love your idea of talking to every blogger you/we know to spread the word. it's funny but earlier was thinking the same thing -- that this needs to be THE DISS HEARD AROUND THE WORLD. i'll email my few blogger contacts to see if they're already on the bandwagon.
also, that idea of placing an ad in variety rocks. do you have any indication how much it would cost? i remember when we did that for kripke but have not paid attention to the amount.

Well, I've written to the Variety Advertising people to ask for rates, and then we shall see. I seem to recall it's a couple of thousand.
