Here's how it went for me...
It started with change.
titheniel came to stay, and we watched all of Jensen's scenes in DooL. We invented a drinking game, ate cheese and olives and drank grappa. We had fun.
I had to move away from the little house I thought I would live in for the rest of my life, because husband can't do stairs any more, so we bought an apartment (shudder) and suffered the loss of the internets for weeks. I fucked up my back, but slowly managed to restore order from chaos.
Husband's weight dropped down to 90lbs, and I worried.
The Olympic Games arrived, and we had no snow. Getting to work in the morning became hell for a few weeks, but the weather was fabulous. Almost like summer. We had no snow! Somehow, we managed.
March came, and with it, my 60th birthday. I still had
titheniel staying with me, and
onci_dium came to stay. Along with
engel82 we went to Gerard's for my birthday and were joined by Crowley... Sterling... Cecil L'Ively Mark Sheppard, who graciously joined us at the bar and kept us entertained by telling us tales of his sojourn on the Leverage set, the Supernatural set, and pretty much every other set. I fell in love. The man is a born raconteur and very gracious.
My lovely
titheniel scored an internship with Electric Entertainment, because I nagged her into applying. She kept saying that she had nothing to show them. I browbeat her. EE, it was all my fault!
ConCon followed, and I met up once more with
marys_scribbles, my much adored beta and co-writer. This time she had with her, her daughter. The SPN LA con followed, and there was more fun, although I lost
titheniel to tinseltown, as she moved to LA to pursue her internship.
April meant that I was able to go see Adam Lambert at the Red Robinson Theatre in Burnaby, thanks to husband's perseverance and tenacity. He stalked Ticketmaster and scored awesome seats for me for my birthday.
akaspeedo came with me, fulfilling our vow to go together and see him. He had boots made from glitter, and he was amazing.
The summer saw me making my pilgrimmage to Dante's in Portland on a frequent basis. I love Portland. Powell's Books is heaven. However, if you ask me in an unguarded moment, it's Steve Carlson who continues to be a draw for me.
July was not my favourite month. My dad died on July 5th, and I was stunned, numb. To a degree I still am. There were some days before I knew when the funeral would be, and a visit from
peppervl had been planned for months. As it happened, we finished her visit with a trip to Dante's in Portland that
onci_dium also was able to attend. I got disgracefully drunk, but it was fun even so. The Monday afterwards, my son and I flew to the UK at HUGE expense to attend my dad's funeral and mourn his passing. I'm still paying for that trip, but I had to do it.
marys_scribbles came to stay at the end of August, and we attended the Vancon, and smooched Richard Speight Jr. which made us both happy.
Sadly, Jensen graciously turned us down, but we're counting Richard a win!
We headed out to the Oregon State Fair to see Kane play, and had a fun road trip that had us getting lost in the US version of Vancouver and discovering that US hotels don't seem to be geared to recycling. Kane were brilliant, and the trip was awesome.
I passed on the chance to attend ChiCon, my protest against them starting to feature the apalling Kosterfuck. I won't be paying Creation any money if any of it's going to him.
Aidan, my delightful 4y/o grandson was tested, and he's made it from the 1st centile to the 30th in less than a year. If you have an autistic child, get him into treatment as soon as you find out. It makes all the difference. That 30th centile is a false figure - he's actually much better than that, but he declines to be tested. I think he has cat blood in him.
December saw a trip to LA to visit with
titheniel and
marys_scribbles, and an Adam Lambert gig that completed his Glamnation tour.
Christmas was muted. Husband is still deteriorating, but it was fun all the same. Now we are on the brink of a new year. I want to say hi and thank you to my flist. I know I'm an erratic poster, and that I am also a very slow writer. I love to hear from you, and I love you all. Tell me what you'd like to see from me in the new year, and I'll do my best to do better in 2011.
So in order to start off on the right foot, give me your prompts, pairing and a word for a fandom you know I can write, and I'll do a fic for you for the new year.
