Ghost Rider

I saw my ex-boyfriend Mikael today. We ate at our favorite restaurant. They still remebered what we always order when we go there, even though it's been 2 years since we broke up, and we've been there only once after that!

We also saw the movie Ghost Rider. I love movies based on comics, especially the Marvel ones, and Ghost Rider was no exception. This time I wasn't familiar with the comic, so I didn't know what to expect. As Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne played at the very beginning of the film, I was instantly hooked. The film had great music and great visuals! I loved the motorcycles meets western-theme.

I loved the character of Carter Slade (played by Sam Elliot), and my favorite scene was when the two ghost riders rode next to each other, Carter Slade on a horse and Johnny Blaze (Nicholas Cage) on a motorcycle. :)

Eva Mendes is hot. *drool*

But this bike is even hotter! ;)

First look at Carter Slade

The soundtrack to the movie was excellent, and I especially loved the rock songs used. :) I've provided links to YouTube, if you want to check out any of the songs.

Crazy Train is great Ozzy song, with guitars by the legendary, extremely talented Randy Rhoads.

Download a good quality mp3 of Crazy Train.

Tush is a cool southern hard rock song by ZZ Top, the guys with the beards. ;)

Who Do You Love?, a cover of Bo Diddley's song by George Thorogood was also featured in the film, in the scene where Johnny chases Roxanne's van on the interstate. The clip is from House of Blues, New Orleans.

The Carpenters are Johnny's favorite band in the movie. Beautiful vocals by Karen Carpenter.

I also got to know a completely new song thanks to this movie. In 1948, Stan Jones wrote a song called (Ghost) Riders in the Sky. It has been covered by over 50 artists, the newest cover being by the Australian rock band Spiderbait. Read more about the song at Wikipedia.

Check out the version by Spiderbait. The video features footage from the movie and from the PS2 game.

For a more traditional version of this song, check out the live performance by Johnny Cash.
