updates on job interviews

Hi everyone. Hi Yaan, hope you're having fun and not embarrassing yourself during your Asian trip. Haha! Anyway, I have been to 2 job interviews so far, one from Globe Telecom and another for an international company in Libis called 24/7 intl.

Globe

The position is Corporate Showroom Associate. The globe office in Makati just had thier own showroom put up and is looking for someone to facilitate events etc. held in that new place. Aside from this, the one hired will be part of a training program which will expose you to the different segments of Innove (a subsidiary of Globe). The person will basically be part of all departments at one point, and at the end of 3months, he/she will be assigned to the department he/she is interested in. During my interview (I had 2 interviews, one was the initial then I was reffered to their boss right away), the chief administrative officer explained to me their benefits (aside from the HMO package that you can convert to cash or whatever you require, they had 14-15th month pay once they reach a certain target for the company) and also told me flat out that if I want a high paying job, then I should go and work for a call center. The pay is between 12-14k, but she told me that there is a good career path. The only flaw that i saw is that this job is an interim position, meaning you're technically contractual in the sense that if you want to transfer careers within the company (You're can't move anywhere managing a showroom), you have to apply within the company to the departments that have openings. So anyway, given that it was in Makati and the job's pretty much not to my liking, I decided not to pursue it anymore. But if you guys are interested, they are looking for a batch of 10 fresh graduates for this training program. Just call Globe HR and I'm sure you can inquire about it. I wish I could give you details but I was just called by their HR, and wasn't able to ask how they got my resume in the first place. It's a bit weird to, when you think about it. Hehe.

247 international

This I like. This IT company is Singapore-based, which has BPO in the Philippines. It's in Libis, has no dresscode and they don't even monitor leaves! The very young (haha!) General Manager is an Ateneo Alumni, MIS batch 99. And the best part of it all, the pay's between 20-25k. No I am not joking. But as Sir Gami said (my Summit boss), if the compensation's big, then the workload's probably big as well. And judging from my 1hr interview, yes I do believe that this job's very challenging. Sir Joseph (my other OJT boss in Summit) endorsed me to this company. (Thanks sir!) See, the company never had an HR for 7 years. I even said that it's quite impossible that they do not have an HR. But he said that all of them, even the General Manager, do their own HR work. They are the ones who call recruitment agencies, book events and even gather employee requirements. But that was when they were only 12 in the company. Now that they plan to grow fast, they are in need of a stable HR system within their company. He even said that they didn't want to hire someone old. Haha! So they're looking to hire a fresh grad who's willing to learn and can provide the company with new ideas. The position is HR Officer, which will eventually move up to being the HR Manager once systems are already in place. What I like about the company is that they aren't tied to their job titles. The office is very open and they don't even address each other as"Sir" or "ma'am". (That's why he would laugh a bit when I call him sir, sanay na eh haha) He said that he was interested to interview me because I have had background in Recruitment and selection during my OJT days. I do wish I get this one, but if I don't, it's okay. Lucky naman diba to get a high paying job on the second interview right? I just leave it up to God. I'm just thankful that I get opportunities like these.

J&J Philippines

They called me this morning, I have an interview with them on Friday. Wish me luck! The position is for HR Administrative Assistant. I just found out that the j&j office is located in Paranaque. Lalala. Bahala na si God. =)

Well that's 3 interviews so far, I do pray for more opportunities. My sister's making me apply to hotels like Makati Shang etc. They base pay is no comparison to the service charge they add to it. So kahit HR dun they earn 28k raw kasi the service charge di bababa ng 18k. We'll see, I have yet to find an email add. hehe.

Good luck to my fellow batchmates in their job hunting! And for those who're studying again soon, well, ha ha! Joke. Buti pa kayo may allowance pa..=P To all my Ga's who are abroad (Annika and Chee!), take care and pasalubong!! haha
