I sing this to my cats when they're not eating

So here's the story. Last Wednesday, I noticed my cat wasn't eating. I woke up in a panic because I saw him laying on the floor in the meatloaf position (paws tucked in, head on floor). So I didn't hesitate to take him to the doctor.

Unfortunately, the doctor didn't do much for me. He mostly talked over me and insisted that his kidney disease was progressing, and that we should continue on fluid therapy and prescription food. I was like, well that's all very well and good, but I don't think that's going to help him. Not to mention, the doctor seemed to be of the opinion that he was just on his way out and that I might have to put him down soon.

That really pisses me off. Everytime there's something wrong with him, people say "Oh you might have to put him down." HELL NO I DON'T. It's not like I'm dragging him through life. He's active, playful, and other than the not eating, he's stable and healthy. I knew it was something small that they must have been overlooking. Luckily, there's plenty of resources on the web for cats with CRF. I read up on what I thought was the issue.

Well, about two more days after fluids, he only ate a little, but not enough. So I called a different vet for a second opinion. Of course she wanted to run blood work (that was covered by my insurance, but there's been some new idiotic policy stopping me from using it). I insisted he just had his bloods done in January. I had been watching him closely and I wrote down all of his symptoms and everything I suspected to be wrong.

The new doctor agreed with me to try an antacid and to give me something to clear up his dirty teeth. After just one dose of the antacid, voila. He's eating again. I was relieved, but also very pissed off that the first doctor was just going to let him suffer for something as simple as acid reflux. It made me wonder if he just didn't think of it, wasn't listening, or didn't even care.
