I find this character very believable if heartbreaking and she seems like the sort who might be a werewolf especially a younger one. She radiates grit and determination.

Just out of curiousity, what do you mean by grit? I hear people saying "Gritty" a lot when they're describing something, but I don't know what that means

I am usually and thinking about coarse grit sandpaper. Which is not what you meant, but since I think of grit as a physical thing that interacts with its environment I figured I would mention it. Since I'm usually thinking coarse grit, I'm imagining someone that can't help but have an effect on everyone she meets. Someone that has a certain abrasiveness to her personality but who will wear away at all the obstacles in her path given the time. Even if you are rubbing people the wrong way you are still pushing though. When I think of someone with grit, I do not think of someone who will do all of this nicely. I think someone who will have a hard time because they will do it their own way and not sugar coat it.

Now if I were to imagine someone as fine grit... Well that would be like a southern belle who runs every man in her life even if they don't know it. Smile and sweet and people don't even know they are being molded to what she wants.

That word "Grit" kind of stands in for something I wish people would explain better. Like in this article: http://www.bestfantasybooks.com/top25-fantasy-books.php If you do Ctrl-F and type in "grit," he uses "grit" or "gritty" 39 times. What the fuck does it mean?!

Thanks for trying to explain it... but I still don't think I get it. All I can figure is raw and unrefined.

The whole fine grit thing just confuses me further -.-

Its more like deliberate regardless of how it effects others when I use it.
