Weekend Excitement

Well, we ended up at the Urgent Care today, because Lily bit Jeff's finger yesterday, and it swelled up and was getting infected.  He had to get a tetanus shot, and is on antibiotics for 10 days.  Apparently, cat mouths are really filthy, so... yeah.  It was very frustrating b/c we found the Urgent Care facility through our insurance website, but when we got there, they said they didn't accept our insurance.  So now I've had to email the insurance company, and I'm sure we'll have to go back and forth on that for a while - I want to be reimbursed.

Yesterday we had dinner with friends, a combo get together/birthday/graduation celebration.  Yesterday was Jeff's graduation ceremony but he decided not to go.  He already has his diploma, and he just didn't feel like it.  We had a fun, yummy dinner and they brought a cake, nail polishes for me (HOORAY) and a Best Buy gift certificate for him.  I love my new nail polishes!!

On a sad note, a 10 year friendship of mine has recently just ended.  It's a shame when something like that happens.  But, I'm almost 40 years old.  My friendships should be easy and uncomplicated.  If things are difficult and can't be easily resolved... forget it.  I'm not willing to put a huge amount of effort in to make things work; that type of effort is something I would only put into a relationship with a significant other, not a friend.  The close friends I do have now are easy and simple.  We're always able to be honest with each other, and there aren't misunderstandings and hurt feelings and the need to discuss things... the friendship just IS.  And that's what I want and need from my friends, and they want and need from me.  No one wants to have to put all kinds of effort in just to get along or feel like things are ok.  So, it is sad, yes, but it happens.

In other news, there is the potential of a job offer coming THIS WEEK!  I am hopeful, but not overly so.  I still looked for jobs today, and will continue to do so every day.  The thought of going back to work is daunting... but welcome!  Not as welcome:  having to get dressed in real clothes every day.  Plus, I've gained almost 10 lbs since getting laid off, so said clothes are vaguely tight.   Isn't that lovely?

Anyway, this week:  Sears coming to do yearly (free) maintenance on the washer/dryer, teeth cleaning, lunch with a friend, and hopefully a massage.  And also, hopefully, a job offer.  OMG.  That would be so great!  And scary!  :)

ETA - The Urgent Care was wrong, per Aetna, and they should have accepted our insurance!  After the co-pay amount, we will be reimbursed from Aetna, so... that's good!
