Author's Note: I really don't like Foreman/Cameron, but I couldn't think of anything else. So.

“Black joke,” Foreman muttered darkly, glaring at the TV. He had his feet up on the table and looked otherwise very relaxed.

“I heard a good one the other day,” Cameron said lightly. “Yo mama’s so fat, when her beeper goes off, people think she’s backin’ up.” Cameron laughed at herself, realising how silly she sounded, reciting the line. “A nurse told me.”

When Foreman didn’t reply, Cameron’s eyes left the screen and moved over to him.

“Come on,” she said brightly. “They’re not that bad.”

“It’s racist.”

“They’re like blond jokes.” Cameron reached for the chips but Foreman hugged the bowl closer to his chest. Cameron made a disgruntled sound and Foreman reluctantly held it out for her. “Nobody gets offended by blond jokes.”

“My sister does.”

Cameron paused. “Your sister’s not…blond, is-”

“Of course she’s not.”

“So-”

Foreman turned to face her. “Do you think Japanese whaling should be stopped?” he asked.

“Yes, but-”

“You don’t have to be a whale to think that.” Foreman went back to the TV, a small, smug smile almost visible.

Cameron scowled. One thing she hated about Foreman was that he was always right - she couldn’t argue with reason.

Cameron shuffled over to him so their shoulders were touching. He was sitting stiffly and refused to look at her.

“You need to lighten up.” Cameron laid her head on his shoulder, and was relieved when he didn’t tense up like she expected him to. “What happened to your ‘I have a second chance at life’ attitude? I liked that.”

Foreman grunted a response and gently raised his shoulder - a signal for her to get off.

Foreman stood up, and before disappearing into the hallway, said, “Are you coming to bed?”

Cameron gave a frustrated sigh. Words she loved to hear, but Foreman never managed to say them quite the right way. She looked, for a moment, toward the doorway Foreman had gone through, and decided to stay out a little longer.
