Ava--I'm not sure any of the judges were a big fan of the metallic skirt. The problem with it is probably in the shading. You used more than enough colors, but, because you didn't define any shapes with it--for instance, it's not tight enough to not have any fabric folds. Even if it was tight, you'd still have to express it's points of stretchiness. It has to be fabric. And since the rest of your outfit was a different material, it just.. Didn't go quite right. I think you had an okay idea, but the execution was what could have used work. Remember to pay attention not only to the colors of the clothing you choose off of the dollmaker, but also how they're shaded. eLouai uses a LOT of different techiniques for shading clothing, and, if you're going to be using one of her pieces as a base, you should make sure to try to shade it in the same fashion she has. I also wasn't too crazy about the hat, and the scarf is okay, but, you've totally lost your neck.
Max-B--What a darling outfit! It really embodies the kind of high class look we were asking for, while still maintaining a very.. Young look, which is what Max-B had for her personal style. Some of the judges were concerned about how many colors you used to shade, but, I personally thought it looked fine. Maybe one more color in the skirt would have added a bit more dimension, but, I like it the way it is. I thought the frosty makeup was a nice touch as well.
Cati--So white! It's very cute, and a very very very huge constrast to what you wore last week. What's also important is that you're wearing this outfit with just as much confidence as you had when you wore the outfit you chose for yourself. I'm personally amused that 'young and innocent' and 'white' translated roughly to you as 'Lolita.' It really worked out well for you.
CJ--Cute PJ's, but.. The picture overall is just a little.. Bland. I would have liked to see you even more relaxed.. Or doing something fun, like jumping on the bed and having a ball. Last week you seemed to have a lot of fun with the picture, and, I think that would have helped sell your outfit. It's not terrible, but... I think you just have to hit your marks harder.
Holly--It really doesn't get much more ununique than a school uniform! I really love that you interpreted it that way. But.. However cute and well interpreted it is, for some reason.. We're just not feelin' it. It might have something to do with your eyes still. (By the way.. It CAN be done. Cause I just did it. And it really looks good.)
Leona--Finally! Leona has a little meat on her bones, and it's working WONDERS for her--she looks HOT! Everything about this picture is fierce, from the pose to the clothes to the hair.. Everything. The judges have a few concerns with anatomy still (her right arm--our left--is just a little bit wonky if you pay close attention to it--I think the forearm may be a little short, and it comes up a little to high to meet with her shoulder), and some of the judges commented that you should be careful in balancing out your makeup, because even though you did the exact same thing on both eyes, because one eye has more darkness in it than the other, the makeup looked heavier on that eye. With all that said... Can I borrow your outfit? LOL.
Zephyr--Not quite what I meant when I said 'industrial.' I would like to point you in the direction of
this. That description is what we were looking for. The metallic, futuristic, and punk look would have constrasted very nicely with the boho look from the last challenge. But hey, people make mistakes. That said.. Overall this outfit is.. Bland. It's all just one big neutral. I think it would have looked better with Zephyr's natural hair.
All that said, here are the winners of the challenge.
Leona
Cati
Max-B
Congrats, you three! I believe this is the first win for Leona, isn't it? And two in a row for Cati! Way to go!
Your photoshoot will be up in a few days! And you three winners may get an edge over your competition.
