Prologue

(Chinen's POV)

The teacher dismissed us and as soon as the cool, evening air hit my face, I released a breath that I didn’t even know I was holding the whole time. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket so I fished it out and flipped it open. Frowning, I realized it was Yamada, saying that he can’t go home with me since he and Yuto have a date. I sighed since that meant I had to go home alone. Pushing any inappropriate thoughts out of my head, I ventured on to the train station, bought my ticket and then entered the cart.

It was almost empty save for two other passengers: an old man and a boy around my age who seemed to be asleep. I leaned back and hummed an Arashi song to myself, focusing on other things when I felt someone sit beside me and rest their hand on my knee. I turned to see the man with a questioning and annoyed look but I was greeted with his red face and breathe that reeked of alcohol.

“Hello there, little girl.” He slurred and the smell of alcohol was strong.

I tried to push him away but he grabbed my wrists and cupped his other hand over my mouth to muffle any noise as he started kissing my neck. This was sickening so I thrashed my legs with the best of my power and tried to wriggle out his grasp but my attempts were futile, this man was strong so I just closed my eyes and shut down. When he noticed that I wasn’t resisting him anymore, he let go of my wrists and trailed his fingers under my uniform, ghosting on my stomach and creeping higher. I tried to calm my beating heart and close my eyes tighter. This would be faster if I just ignore it and pretend I was somewhere else. However, before I could let my mind venture somewhere else, I felt the man laughing on my neck and that’s when I heard a voice.

“That’s quite enough, Sir. You need to stop now before I report you to the police.” I cracked open one eye and saw that it was that other boy who was asleep. He eyed me then back to the man, “Sir? Will you please let her go?”

The man laughed a husky, deep one that sent shivers down my spine. The intercom made a sound and the train slowed down before stopping altogether. Luck was probably on my side tonight, at least.

The boy grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the cart and we both ran out of the train station and onto the less-busy streets. We blended into the crowd and looked behind us from time to time to see if he was following us. He wasn’t, so we stopped to catch our breath. He put a hand on my shoulder and breathlessly asked me where I lived. I weakly pointed behind him and he nodded his head before gripping my wrist gently and we started walking. I felt my face heat up and my heart skip a beat at the contact.

We stopped at a convenience store a block away from my house to get some ice cream. Who knew this boy who saved my life also enjoyed eating ice cream this late at night. Somehow, the mere thought of it made my heart beat faster again. I shrugged it off as we went out of the store.

“Hey, it’s getting kinda late. I should probably walk you home.” He smiles and I can’t help but blush. I softly shook my head and told him that it’s only a block away and I was relatively safe. He looks a little reluctant but finally nods his head and smile again. “Bye.” He said softly and I can feel myself melting.

I shyly gesture at my wrist which he was still grasping. He slowly lets go and my skin tingled. I could see the slight blush on his face as he sheepishly scratched the back of his head. “Well, I have to go now.” I said, breaking the tense atmosphere.

“Y-yeah. B-bye.” I find it cute that he’s stuttering.

I started to stalk off when I heard him call out. “Hey, next time, a cute girl like you shouldn’t go home alone ‘cause even if you’re dressed like that, you’re still prone to perverts.” I watched him run off to the other direction as I walked home.

When I reached my house, I was greeted by my Mom and her usual question of, “Are you hungry?” I politely decline, saying I had a lot of homework to do.

I took the stairs with two steps at a time and closed the door when I reached my room. After I change out of my uniform and into some sweats and a shirt, I looked at myself in the mirror.

“Am I really that girly-looking?” My hands flew to my faces as they traced my milky cheeks, the contours of my nose and the long eyelashes. That was when I remembered my Mysterious Savior.

I looked at my face again and a plan got formed by itself. Maybe, just maybe, I could use my girly-looking features to woo that boy.

Just maybe, though.

A/N2: How was it? Hope you guys liked it. ^^ Comments are highly appreciated.

Plot is Ate Joey's, btw. :D She pushed me to write it for her. Her words, not mine. xD
