Long time no see

I know it's been a long time since I've said hello on your livejournal- forgive me! Life's been pretty busy. But I was I was looking at your fandom list, and I wanted to ask: Have you see Slumdog Millionaire, Ponyo or Star Trek (2009) yet? I know I've asked you about Slumdog before. All are fantastic movies that came out this year. I don't know if I've told you about Star Trek though. If you have doubts about watching Star Trek, I can tell you right now- when my friend invited me and ten other people to go see it last May, another friend and I said, "Nah, we'd rather see Up." Seeing Star Trek was only slightly appealing-I knew nothing about it and I couldn't even tell you the difference between Star Trek and Star Wars. But me and my skeptical friend took a chance on Star Trek. I WAS BLOWN AWAY. Within the first 5 minutes, I was enthralled. By the time me and my previously skeptical friend exited, we were the most excited and enthusiastic of the invited group.This November, I invited 20 people to a screening of my own. Many said they were surprised at how good it was. I only know of two people, who saw the movie at a different time with me, who thought it was "OK". Please take a chance on Star Trek! I'd love to see Star Trek fic from you. As for Slumdog and Ponyo, I dunno about fics for them, but they certaintly are good films.
