i think i should appreciate this lifestyle more

this morning i woke up at 11, soaked in sunshine. my roommate was handing me a phone, and shannon's happy voice was saying "good morning! this is your wake-up call! you wanna go get coffee?"

i put on some clothes and wandered over to the common area where my parents bought me a cup of coffee and yogurt. we chatted for awhile, and then i had to grab my coffee and go to my hair cut/ eyebrow waxing. i gossiped with a gay man while he plucked and snipped, allthewhile sipping coffee and being bathed in sunshine.

now i'm sitting in my bright dorm room, reading for my two classes today. (and believe me, i have a lot of reading. but it's interesting.)

i'm gonna go to poli sci 422, and then i'm going to meet up with sarah and shannon and we're going to get snacks to tide sarah and i over for our 3-hour class. there has never been such a collegey class, ever. we're going to have gloriously interesting intellectual discussions and be absolutely starving by the time 6:45 rolls around. we'll meet some people at west dining hall (the nice one) by our classroom, and my parents will buy me a dinner that will be immediately followed by a warm chocolate chip cookie.

and then we'll come back to our rooms, change, and go to the gym. probably yoga class, if i had to guess.

then there's the necessary shower, studying for a few hours, and falling asleep talking to my roommate about my day.

this year, especially this semester, is easy and fun and chill and very very college. next semester will be more of an adventure, more high-strung, more crazy... i mean, five girls in an apartment!

but for now, i am going to do my best to appreciate the greatness of this lifestyle. it will only last for so long and then will be gone forever. and it is truly, truly great.
