A Ghostly Story
This story happened to me nearly a month ago. I was at my friend’s party, and it was late, and my friend Anna asked me to stay at her place. I didn’t want to return home in the darkness, so I was glad to stay for the whole night at her flat. She brought me to one of her rooms, and made a bed for me, and left alone. I was very tired and soon fell asleep. But my dream was so strange… I had been awaken several times during the night, because of some strange noises. I heard a baby crying, I heard some people talking in the room (but I couldn’t catch the topic of their conversation)… There were a lot of other strange voices and screams. In the morning I told Anna this story, but she just smiled. She said that was OK, she knows about things happening in her flat and suggested not to pay too much attention to this. “These are my ghosts” she said in such a tone as if she said “these are my relatives”. I was shocked. Then Anna explained that since the time her family moved to this flat, it has been constantly happening. The blocks of flat house was new, nobody had lived there before Anna came to this flat. There was no cemetery on the place where the house is now… No signs of crime, nothing special…Once she called for a priest from the local church and the priest said several prayers to get the ghosts away, but there was no result. Then Anna decided that she can live with such “neighbors” as with friends or pets, or something of this kind. “If you don’t pay any attention to them they are quite harmless” she said.
