aieee. okay. i am . . . posting a story. yes, this is what i'm doing. it's the latest. it was already up on the yahoo list, but i am busting out of that madness, and no doubt.
Los Tigres, huh? You SHOULD start a petition, for that is rather cool. ¿Hablas Español?
Who might this CF be that you mention? Name names, I'm curious! :) I think your boys will be just fine though, even if they're doing the flies/honey routine right now. Hm. Flies/Honey. OTP? ;)
When you are done in London, do you return to this area for school, or is it back to CA with you?
it is back to california with me, no delay. dc will have to wait the summer to get me back. washington's on the edge of its seat in anticipation, i know.
thanks for offering to tape some of the games, but in addition to eeeeeeverything else, i also don't a television. seriously, i don't know if i was mad spoiled or am now mad deprived, but none of the essentials of the modern age are mine right now. i think the plan, anyway, is to pester the 'rents to get me the all access thing once i'm back at school, and catch up on the start of the season that way.
si, hablo espanol. un poco. in serio, intento. yo soy de vez en cuando acertado.
Okay. Just the mention of 'Boo-yrnes' killed me SO DEAD. Reading your shit is just like curling up in the lap of the Bay. I'm seriously still giggling. I may be easily amused.
Second, quoting WW? (that was WW, right?) So awesome. SO AWESOME.
the pilot episode, nonetheless! although it wasn't directly quoted, you definitely picked up where i was coming from.
the boo-yrnes thing i would like to catch on just as soon as possible. spring training last year, me and my brothers picked out byrnes as our boy for the season based on his floppy blonde hair and hilarious style of running out to center. i wanna hear a whole stadium, shouting it, 'i was saying boo-yrnes!' it'll be great.
I have actually gotten into heated debates with coworkers over Mistah Byrnes (I work in the sports department of a smallish newspaper). A fellow A's fan I work with doesn't like him at all (okay, yes, he should have touched the effing plate first and pushed 'Tek after, but there was so much not right about that game that it just isn't fair to blame him) and I had to stand up for my boy. I mean, he runs to CF like it's going somewhere. He fielded flys that T Long was too lazy to chase after. I swear he'd back up home plate if they needed it. And those crazy high socks (my real love for Zito: The Socks). And the way he dances off of second and makes the baseman all twitchy. You can't not love him.
Gimme a few days, I swear I'll stop rambling in your journal.
"No matter how small the town is, there’s a baseball field somewhere, the grass crabbed, the bases locked away for the winter, square holes in the ground marking out their absence. No matter how small the town is, there’s at least a jail, a bar, a church and a baseball field, because this is America, after all, and that’s all you really need. "
Just, holy shit. That line is so great. I'm reading to the podfic of this and I had to stop when I heard that because holy shit.
Also I love this fic in general. It's very Sam & Dean of them, to drive for days in no particular direction.
dude, classic style right here. this story is stuck in my head because it was the first road trip story (a running theme that sam n dean just enabled me to completely capitalize on), and also one of the insanely rare first person stories, and the one i like best.
anyway! awesome that you are liking it ('specially the podfic, as i am always self-conscious), thanks very much for the note.
