i know! of all the eric chavezs, this one is really the last i would have expected to fix his life and get on with it. and maybe he won't, but we can all hope.
and you know, this is like the third or fourth swing on tense. originally i could only write past tense, then only present tense, now only past tense again except the current story is present tense so i am breaking out of it again.
Wow, dude. That is some remarkable turnaround time! I'm impressed.
I always enjoy your Huddy POV stuff, because i love the way you give him a way with words, even when he's not mincing them. In particular:
They were so fucked-up. Hudson wished he could hear how Mulder and Zito were justifying it to themselves, or maybe they just didn't care. Maybe Chavez was pathetic to the point of being beyond sympathy, but who the fuck wanted to fuck that?
And this characterization, sadly:
. . . Hudson was beginning to have his suspicions about Mulder too, distantly appalled and just as far away, grudgingly impressed at the dedication Chavez was putting into this whole self-destruction kick.
On a purely emotional level, I so want to him to jump in and save Chavvy from himself, but you're right, Huddy's smart enough to know nothing good would come of stepping into that fucked up emotional whirlpool.
Charitable of you to not end it on a completely wrist-slittingly depressing note. Thanks for taking up the request!
well, this is why remixes are good for me. do you have any idea how fast i can write when i don't actually have to come up with plot. this above took just more than two hours.
and i feel like i've totally missed the bus on the huddy pov! what have i been doing with my time that's not writing stories from tim hudson's perspective? honestly now. what with my deeply convoluted love-hate relationship with zito and my baseless bitterness towards mark mulder, hudson is the one out of the three who gets the purest strains of my affection. he's like a big ball of endearment.
thanks man, awesome that you liked it. this remix thing has jumpstarted me but good; if a month goes by with no new fic you might want to check to make sure i haven't gotten hit by a bus.
Ohhh, Huddy, so smart and so strong. I really enjoyed this, how he just sort of monitors the situation from nearby, but secretly he's rooting for Chavvy to be okay.
Also, I'm the opposite of you! I can't make myself write in past tense most days, haha, even though it's supposed to be easier, managerially.
dude, exactly! i kinda want to be angry at huddy for not helping him out directly, but i think he knows that would only lead to more drama, so he will just bear witness. he's really terribly likable.
six months ago it was nothing but present tense for me, either. i swing wildly back and forth.
