you know, I sometimes follow the best writers I find into universes I don't know much, because a good story is a good story in whatever context. It's not that I don't know baseball, though, it's that I don't follow a team or players anymore, so I knew nothing of those guys in particular.

but I can't express how awesome this was. so great, so perfect. How Zito is helpless with Haren, allows himself to be jerked around, and how Harden loves Zito so much he can take him back even knowing he could get shattered again.

He was always trying to turn back the clock with Rich; he always wanted it to be five minutes ago or five years ago, no interest at all in this moment right now.

Fantastic writing, as usual.

i graduate college tomorrow (fucking finally get out of the midwest) and this was like the best last fic to read here in my last dorm room ever. i was so worried it was going to end up very sad, and so i am very happy it did not. way to bring back the nostalgia.

Oh Zito, so fucked up. And it looks like our boy gets a happy(ish) ending! He could totally blow things up the next time he sees Danny, but for now, everything's all right!

chavvy/munce i have not tried to reproduce in a while, but hey man, never say die. i'm trying to better balance the mlb and spn, you know. because it was sad for me to write no baseball fic for like eight months or whatever it was.

I think that's why I love the fact he and Richie have a (sorta, almost) happy ending-- for now. Poor Richie. :P

Oh, Barry Zito, such a douche, and I say that with love. God, I loved him in this story, so clueless, so douchey, so relentlessly optimistic because what's the alternative, really? Rich Harden I don't know at all except through your fiction, but I like him, I really do, which means, I guess, that you really do, too.

yes, zito is without a doubt the villain of the story, and it is sad that neither he nor the author ever buy into that completely. he does all these dickish things and i am just like, oh that is zito being zito, i must not get too irritated with him. stupid fictional zito in my head.

and man, rich harden, we love him with a fierce and unstoppable passion. for my purposes in fic, he has become the fount of various amusingly bitchy comments. zito gives him a lot of material, as you can imagine.

always rocks hearing from you, kid, for we now go way back.
