saw the rocks win the pennant the other day, which was the awesome. if you can believe, i had never been to a postseason baseball game (unlike my smelly brothers, one of whom saw the giants win the pennant and both of whom attended two world series games--one of them worked concessions and got PAID TO BE THERE), seeing as how i tended to be in ( Read more... )

you know? it's such a dumb thing to do because how is danny planning to go to the ballpark the next day? he's such a meathead.

the thing about implausible soap opera plots is they actually happen in real life and it's creepy when it does. you say, "oh my gosh, that would never happen" and then ten years later you're telling someone about some kind of weird family situation and you think, "oh my gosh, that totally happened to us."

oh, danny.

WHEN DID YOU GET AMNESIA? seriously, our soap opera phase we called 'high school.'

k, no amnesia, but illegitimate cousins and uncles who make duct tape artwork, yep, we have that. also a crazy aunt in chicago who thinks the banks control the water supply? we don't get along.

oh, yes, high school. my best friend's boyfriend got my teammate pregnant. best friend broke up with that boyfriend ... a couple months ago. FOUR YEARS LATER. that's very soap opera.

And, okay, how about totally implausible soap opera plot devices? Everybody cool with that?

Heh. Just so long as you follow this up with A Long Lost Twin story.

Oh, Daniel John. This is not okay! Rich sure seems to bring out the Special Headcase in that boy.

Randomly, rickenbacker and I were having this sorta argument about whether Rich is a crier (she says he's not), and then it's just so happened that Rich has cried in every story of yours we've read since (we've been re-visiting some stuff). Like, I knew I wasn't making that up.

wait, long lost minnesota twin? because somebody who writes that team needs to hop on that shit right quick.

yo, i totally hadn't noticed the crying thing, but i will depend the soft-hearted kid, because he has been through a lot recently! He disappeared only a little while ago! it's a hard life, starring in my twisted imagination, you can ask chavvy about that.

For the record! I like a guy who cries now and then, but Myr would totally turn him into a girl just to make fun of him (in other words, just to rile me up).

We tend to have the same argument alot, too. The one where I call Huston an ignorant slut. And she channels Ben Kenobi ala A New Hope (though she's not a star wars fan, and doesn't know it's very Ben Kenobi): "who's stupider? the slut, or the lovesick puppy who follows him?"

So, yeah. Typical day at the house of us.

We talk about Richie and/or Huston and/or slash pretty much every single day, and we end up in some weird conversations. Well, prolly not weird to you. But weird to the general public, who are sometimes around when we talk of these things. Yes.

Poor Richie. Kid doesn't know any better and Danny flippin' Haren is there to frickin' take advantage of him. Haren's pretty bizzare, 2047, Australia, pirate? Makes me want to slap him and hug Richie because he's crying about this and Haren is such an asshole. Not really, but that's the only way I can justify myself after this stupid little tirade of mine ( ... )

dude! welcome. welcome to fandom and the a's and everything. it's good stuff. everybody around here went through that thing where you read whole archives of your first fandom in like a month; mine was sports night.

also it's kinda sad that half of the four guys you mention aren't even a's anymore. although, i always had a problem writing other teams until the core cast of characters started getting traded and stuff. anyway! thanks for the note, man.

Thanks! And I know Zito's with the Giants and, last I heard, Mulder's with the Cards. I went to Zito's official page thing and looked at his gallery. The first picture of him, with his hair all spiked and the subtitle reading 'me in blue' or something like that, is pretty funny. Then him in some frickin' awesome sunglasses, and in the background you can see the A's dugout. Pretty awesome pictures he has.

You're welcome, totally deserve it!

ain't he just?

okay, this will not be the last one, i can promise you that, because i'm not gonna end it on an underdeveloped soap opera subplot story. i can go out with more style than that.
