The difference between geeks and non-geeks
I was using my mother's laptop to check news while visiting her, as while they finally got DSL, I had no easy way to hook my laptop into it. The barage of animated Flash ads was getting on my nerves, so I asked if I should go ahead and install Flashblock which is how I take care of that annoyance. My mother said no, that the animations were something she could just tune out. Then she did note that on the desktop, she kept a piece of paper taped to the side of the monitor. If an ad ever got to the point of annoying her, she'd just temporarily tape the paper over it...
