Pretty much. You keep the plot, but we allow authors to change the pairing if they want to. (If not, one popular way to remix a fic is merely to shift the POV to someone other than the original POV character.) We've got it in the sign up form if people are open to certain changes of pairing, but past checking that, go to town! I might take one of your Ian/Nikki and change it to Ian/Colby. Or I could take one of your Nikki POV drabbles and change it to Ian's POV and change the dialogue to what I hear them saying. Or I could keep all the dialogue word for word and change everything else in the fic. It's however you want to write it as long as you keep the basic plot and give credit to the original.

We've had a few remixes posted already so you can take a look at those for ideas or hit remixthedrabble for inspiration. They don't allow changes of pairing like we do, but they're the big comm for remixing drabbles.

It's fun! If you want to see some of mine I've got a tag for remixes on my LJ. I've really enjoyed playing in someone else's sandbox. /grins/
