Megan hovered over him and he had to turn away. He could see Don trying to shift David from the room, all while David shouted "Traitor!"
His team. His friends. His family. Each looking at him now with contempt. He wanted to tell them it was all a lie. The pain in his heart nearly brought it out of him.
But, for two years he’d kept this façade. For two years, he’d worked for a greater good. No matter what, he couldn’t turn back. Duty, honor wouldn’t allow it.
All he could do was pray that some day... they’d understand.
