Pretty Cool

Hey, I just figured out that this is a pretty cool idea. I think I'll start using my livejournal more often.

My trip to Mexico was a trip. It always is whenever I go anywhere with Jack. The weather was kinda crappy, but that just meant that we had justification to sit around and be lazy. We had HBO and Showtime, so watched plenty of movies. We went out to a great restaurant one night. The food was fabulous. They cooked over mesquite and it made the meat so flavorful we were orgasmic. They had mariachi (sp??) bands that wandered through and played. I didn't realize the accordian was so popular as a mexican instrument. It was titillating hearing accordian being played and seeing people enjoy it. So many jokes about accordian players have dampened my enthusiasm for playing my instrument.

Another night we went to a mexican buffet where we were able to taste a variety of mexican dishes. Excellent! The flan was particularly good...the burnt carmel was just right. Yum!

I was amazed that the land was so green and beautiful and the beaches were awesome. As beautiful as anything in Oregon that I've experienced. That really surprised me. I expected to find barren desert and snakes. Totally cool! I would go again. But I would pray for better weather. After the tsunami, the coast turned gray and wet. San Diego was flooded its worst in 10 years (just north of where we stayed) and the streets in Rosarita were bad at their best and now were muddy and great potholes were washed out, so we had to be careful not to lose a wheel in one of them.

The two sunny days we had, I spent shopping in the little open-air shops lining the sides of the road outside of town. I had a great time bargain-hunting and found some very pretty things to give as gifts.

The sun is shining today but it is very cold. There's frost on everything, but the sun is shining vry brightly in a blue sky. Gorgeous! I must take the dogs out for a walk.
