Bkk-trippin' with the churchies! It wasn't a very last minute affair because we all booked our tickets pretty early on, but felt quite last minute because we didn't get any planning done till a couple of weeks before that. Anyway i manged to get off work a little earlier on Friday (snuck off kinda after a meeting haha), which was good because i managed to do last minute packing! We were flying off from T1 and after checking in, we decided to head to T3 to eat popeyes because they had some new ghost pepper wings. After sky-training there we realised that alas, popeyes closed argh. So we headed to the departure hall and then sky-trained back to T1 to eat texas chicken. Not too bad i guess.
Reached bangkok only past midnight, and we spent quite some time at the phone counter getting our 3G (because there were so many of us haha). Reached the apartment at about 2-ish and decided against going to chatuchak for night shopping and just sleep instead haha.
Boat noodles! The girls waited for serene because she took a different flight, while the guys headed to the tailor first and met us straight at the noodles place. Was so hard to get to! Kinda forgot it was the vesak day public holiday weekend i guess. I think i might still be able to remember how to walk to the boat noodles place though. But anyway it was really tasty! Had five bowls!!
After that was chatuchak!! It was hella hot. But we did manage to score some good buys. I'm regretting not buying more of a particular 200thb paperbag pants damnit :(
Post chatuchak-dinner was rot fai market!!! Finally got to visit this place because last year, they were renovating the old one (which is very far away), but now they've split into two markets so we went to the one that's closer to the city.
Day 2: platinum mall! We wanted to have wanton mee at this famous stall near pratunam but it was closed for the long weekend, so we had to settle for platinum food court (which was still good!) I maxed out the funds i brought out for the day haha (had to borrow from amelia). No pics because we were too busy shopping! Regrouped for dinner at siam square one for somboon seafood, and had dessert at this cafe called white flower factory.
For lunch on day 3 the girls ended up at white flower factory again for lunch haha. The place is so pretty!!
Lunch was decent and even though were bursting, we still popped over to yingdeau homemade to have dessert. One per person haha. Extremely delish though!!!
Paragon to shop (i might have bought one too many bras) and then we met up with the guys for even more food.
Roamed around finding a place to do manicures and we finally found one! I got pretty geometric nails done but they all chipped like...within the week :( Then after that it was more food at som tam nua. My fried chicken pic is blurry though. And then more food again - dessert at mango tango!
Cafe hopping for our final day!!! Trekked to thonglor and had roast for a late brunch after all our packing the night before. It's fantastic :D Love love love it. Way tastier than mr jone's orphanage (which was at the same mall but undergoing renovations).
Trudged over to audrey cafe nearby but guess what - they ran out of thai milk tea crepe cake! Which was what they were known for! Argh. So annoyed i couldn't enjoy dessert hahaha. Then after that was husky cafe! :D they're so adorable :) :) :)
Okay end of trip - very drama. We were almost late for our flight! Husky cafe ended a bit later than we expected, because there was a specific time they were let out in the compound to play, and a time for their feeding. Spent some time back at the apartment while picking up our bags because sebby thought he left something behind. Plus our apartment was way way way too far from the airport. We took the brt, then the mrt, then another train before finally changing lines to the airport express. That's 4 transfers and hauling bags up and down stairs and across roads. The airport express was hella packed too! We actually got split up, which was probably a good thing because amelia, aaron & annette who got on the earlier train actually managed to get the ticket counter to hold check-in for us. Mad rush to the check-in, then mad rush to our gate, mad rush up the plane, and then finally could take a breather. Was feeling super icky after all that running around. But was very glad to have made it home!!
