traffic

Baton Rouge traffic is bad on a normal day. Double the size of
the city and it turns to horrendous. We tried to go to my house
today, after getting stopped on I-55 trying to go south, we went
towards Baton Rouge to go down Airline (us-61) to get to New
Orleans that way. Bad idea. Took around an hour and a half to
get from Baton Rouge to Gramercy, at which point the traffic came
to a complete stop, and we decided we probably couldn't make it
all the way there before night, and turned around and came back.
Wound through lots of back roads in the country to avoid having
to go back through Baton Rouge traffic.

On the plus side, we put a computer into my car, which while not
quite right, is close enough that the car will work until I can
acquire a proper one off ebay. Maybe we can get to my house next
week sometime. I have pictures of various tree carnage and scary
stuff like that, but a) I am on less than 28.8 dialup, and b) I
have nowhere pre-set-up to put them. Testing what I have from
here would be painful. If the car holds I may head out to find
a slice of civilization which involves vaguely fast network later
on this week. Likely to LSU.
