On having an OTP...or two or five or so
Before I forget, HI and WELCOME to all my new Inception friends! HI to all you old friends too, of course ;)
So. Remember when I fell ass over tit for Kirk/Spock? And I got all mushy gushy about them in a way I've NEVER gotten for a pairing before? It was...weird. All of a sudden I only wanted to read them together, only them, ever. Well, it's happening again, in a slightly different way, with Arthur and Eames.
Let me explain.
I fell first for Tom Hardy as Eames. Still loving him, but mostly loving him solely as Eames (and Bob, thank you RocknRolla), in very much the same way I was with Captain Fine. Gorgeous? Absolutely. AMAZING as Kirk? Fuck yeah. His other roles? Not the same thing, for me. I'm like that with Tom Hardy now. (Though my goodness, the two of them in one movie? That one with Reese Witherspoon? That's gonna be fun!) JGL, on the other hand, has me enraptured with ALL of his roles EVER since he was but a BABY. Seriously. It's almost embarrassing, or would be if I could feel any shame in it at all, which I just don't.
Anyway. I'm loving, LOVING, most Arthur!fic. I'll read him with Dom (that is SO much fun, so full of angst and daddy issues and most bordering on dub con at best. What that says about me, I am not sure, nor do I particularly care.) I moan out loud when I see that OMG someone's written an Arthur/Mal fic (or HOLY FUCK AN ARTHUR/MAL/DOM fic!!) I weep with joy when I see long AU's featuring Arthur/Eames in the military/as Disney characters/as monsters/in Mysterious Skin or 10 Things or Brick or RocknRolla crossovers. Weep. With. Joy. (All that being said? I am so not into Arthur/Ariadne, in any fashion, though I do see why one might enjoy that. And I don't, at all, ever, want Cobb/Eames, or Saito/Anyone -- I like Saito as a character in fic though, same with Yusuf, and I hardly regard Fischer at all. I dunno. I could see Eames/Fischer, though.)
Arthur and Eames. They can fuck everyone else on the team, or in Paris, or in the entirety of the US and the UK, I don't care about that, so long as it happens BEFORE Arthur/Eames. I'm not saying happily ever after, not at all, I am saying strongly in character, well written fic which ends so that I am at least thinking they have a shot. And for the love of FUCK I don't want ANYMORE death fic about those two. EVER. I want Eames or Arthur to flee, Eames to Mombasa, Arthur to the states, so long as one isn't fucking the other about. Angst and UST and more angst and fuckery is okay, SO LONG AS THEY END UP SIDE BY SIDE in some way.
I'm still waiting for that perfect fic that features Mal jealous of Eames and Arthur because Arthur is done with Mal using and abusing him and running back to Dom. Or that one where Eames' heart is about to burst with jealousy over Arthur and Cobb and how Arthur's his little lap dog at the beginning, after Mal...JEALOUSY. IT'S MY FAVORITE KINK. Along with wanking. Oh good GODS. Wanking. How about Arthur going under to dream and fuck projection!Mal one more time, waking up hard as a rock an unable to have an angsty, teary tug at himself? OR OR OR Eames forging into Mal for him, or Dom for him? FUCK. WRITE THIS. SOMEONE. ARGH.
While I'm here and talking about Inception fic...Fandom, I love you, but a drabble is 100 words. Only. Not 500 or 800 or 150. And Eames? He's the Brit. He should speak as such. Arthur is American, and should also speak as such. Also? Their names are Arthur and Eames. Not Point Man and Forger. Go on and make up first and last names, if you must. Have them call each other pet names like darling, or asshole, if you like but enough with the Point Man and Forger. Okay? Okay.
